FAQ
-
How many people can participate in a murder mystery party? It varies! Each mystery theme has a minimum and maximum number of characters. Select your theme based on how many people you expect to attend your party.
-
What if I don't know how many people will be at my murder mystery party? It's highly recommended to know the exact number of characters for your party. Otherwise, you'll know that any 'added' characters later can't be the murderer! With that said, we know things happen. If you need to add more characters after you place your original order, reach out to info@breadcrumbsmystery.com and we'll set you up with the ability to add a few characters a la carte.
-
Who will know who the killer is?Only the killer. Unlike other murder mystery parties, even the host won't know who is guilty. Whoever purchases a Breadcrumbs Mystery will assign characters to their group simply based on their role and some personality traits. Unknowingly, the guilty party (or parties) will be assigned. The killer will know if they're guilty once they receive their character card.
-
When does everyone get their character cards and backstory?Within 24 hours of completing your purchase, all members of your party will receive their character cards via email.
-
Is there a set script to the whole evening? No. Everyone's character card contains information that must be shared throughout the evening. However, most of the night is improvised based on the backstory provided to each character. Want to give your character an accent? Or lean into some bizarre accessories you've prepped for your character? Everything is on the table.
-
What if my character is asked questions, that I don't know the answer to?Shrug it off! The information that you know for sure about the crime will be abundantly clear in your character card. If you’re asked about things that you weren’t told about, simply say that you don’t know or avoid the question.
-
What materials are shipped to the party location? In addition to everyone receiving character cards, the location provided at checkout will be sent an evidence box. The evidence box might be envelopes containing revealing information throughout the course of the night, small props to help tell the story, or more. Don’t take these lightly, though: It’s best to assume that anything provided in a Breadcrumbs Mystery might be a clue.
